The other day while driving my kids around. My oldest daughter told me she wanted to be an artist. The look on my face was filled with excitement since she has always been a crafty person. I took her out to buy some paint and boards and am curious to see what she makes.
I set up the GoPro on the corner of my art table, thinking she would just slap paint around, but she actually took the time to block out areas. Interesting.
I was reading the old X-force #1 and thought how fun a book that was back in the 90′s. I wanted to give the book my own spin and decided to draw Cable for the first character design. I think I will go through the rest of the characters and do my own take. Then possibly redo the issue for fun.
This version of Cable isn’t big enough in my opinion. But I wanted to use some of the modern tech such as a gun strapped to the chest. I should of also added more pouches but this will do for now.
Since I haven’t drawn a single illustration last year, I decided to do some fun things and actually hit the board again. Well, not the board but the Wacom.
I have had a long distaste or interest in super hero books or team books, Seems like I always lean toward the darker material and the super underground comics. Thanks, Tim Vigil.
Every time i visit the comic book shop it seems less interesting to me, every character almost now has a female counterpart, or the entire world is screwed up. I think I am just getting to be an old grumpy person.
While at the comic shop, I did put up a couple of books by Boundless comics and thought I would try to redesign and illustrate some of the books for fun.
